A bespoke sculptural desk conceived for a private home office within one of Australia’s most awarded contemporary residences, this piece embodies a refined balance of mass, materiality, and precision craftsmanship.

Cast in a custom developed black terrazzo, the surface reveals a rich composition of Nero and Verde Alpi marble aggregates. The mix produces a deep, tonal black matrix punctuated by subtle shifts of green and mineral variation, brought to life through a meticulous process of grinding, grouting, and polishing.

The three metre form is defined by a sweeping, softened edge profile, transitioning into a single waterfall leg with a continuous full bullnose radius that wraps seamlessly from vertical to horizontal planes. This fluid geometry contrasts with the opposing support, two corten steel hemispheres, precisely offset to create a sense of tension and asymmetry beneath the mass of the top.

All moulds and edge profiles were hand formed in plaster, ensuring complete control over curvature and finish. The result is a singular object, both architectural and sculptural, designed to anchor the space with quiet authority and material depth.
