A R A

A singular and highly personal commission, Ara reimagines the functional object as a sculptural artefact, conceived for collectors seeking an expressive centrepiece for gathering and celebration.

Drawing from the language of classical sculpture, the work is composed of human limbs supporting and emerging from a central vessel. Arms extend from the bowl while articulated legs elevate the form, creating a dynamic composition that blurs the boundary between object and figure. In a deeply personal gesture, the limbs were derived from the clients themselves, captured through detailed scanning and translated into the final work.

At its core sits a vessel inspired by ancient forms, its surface deliberately developed to evoke the character of a weathered object, as though recovered from time or tide. This contrasts with the refined finish of the supporting elements, creating a tension between erosion and precision.

Cast in ultra high performance concrete and finished in natural copper with a hand developed patina, the surface carries depth, variation, and a sense of age.

Both functional and symbolic, Ara exists at the intersection of ritual, sculpture, and engineering.
