Crosini was contacted by a high-end, award winning builder with specific bathroom design briefs involving seamless, integrated sinks, back splashes, bath surrounds and sculptural elements. We we’re asked if a design scope of this nature was actually possible to achieve. After several meetings, tests and prototypes presented, Crosini was commissioned to fabricate the handmade pieces.
There were many fabrication challenges that required innovative solutions. In regard to the vanities, one of these challenges included forming the back splash with the plumbing running through it and designing it so that it could be disassembled successfully while the concrete was curing to finish the piece by hand.
As the back wall of the sink seamlessly joined the back splash, designing the custom sink mould and back splash for efficient, successful demoulding was paramount to the finished piece.
With the bathtub set in position, we developed a creative solution to brace the internal knock out of the tub to be removed while casting to ensure a beautiful finish was achieved to the internal edge of bathtub.
Exceptional detail was made in planning, forming, stripping and hand finishing each piece to achieve truly unique, individual, and timeless pieces.
